Sunday, October 1st, 2017: Garcia Named September's #1 Newcomer
The National League Rookie of the Month has been picked for September and the honor went to the Atlanta Braves hitting machine, Alejan Garcia.

During the last month he compiled a .383 batting average with 36 hits and 6 home runs, along with 24 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

This year Garcia has hit at a .373 pace and produced 25 RBIs, 6 home runs and scored 17 runs.
Friday, August 25th, 2017: Braves Lose Tim Brown
Tim Brown at first refused to leave today's Arizona-Atlanta game after he suffered a strained anterior cruciate ligament while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I'm a competitor," the feisty Atlanta first baseman said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Brown out of action for 5 weeks.

This year Brown has hit 2 home runs and posted a .233 batting average.
Saturday, July 29th, 2017: Injury Forces Josh Fields Out
Medical officials from the Atlanta Braves reported that the club's 34-year-old third baseman, Josh Fields, suffered a torn abdominal muscle in yesterday's matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies while running the bases. Fields is expected to miss 7 weeks of action.

This year Fields is batting .242 with 15 home runs. He has scored 53 runs and driven in 49.
