Monday, October 23rd, 2017: Washington Nationals Win World Series
It was a storybook year for the Washington Nationals as they closed out a 4-1 series win over the Seattle Mariners to claim the 2017 World Series. They wrapped it up with a 7-3 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship.

The Nationals manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a World Series."

"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Mariners manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."

During the National League Eastern Division regular season Washington put up a 99-63 record and finished first.
Wednesday, October 18th, 2017: Washington's Sowers Injured

Friday, September 1st, 2017: August's NL Top Pitcher is Nationals Wils
When Theo Wils takes the hill, chances are good for a Washington victory. At least that's the way it was in May.

He excelled with a 5-0 mark and 1.13 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 40 innings, fanned 48 and held others clubs to a .173 average.

That's why the Nationals star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the National League.

Wils has a 15-4 season record so far. In 25 starts, he has fanned 191 batters in 176.1 innings with a 3.42 ERA.
