| Breaking News |  | Friday, September 15th, 2017: Brawley Struts Stuff in Cincinnati Win
All went well for Caleb Brawley of the Pittsburgh Pirates as he pitched his team to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Cincinnati Reds, limiting them to 6 hits while ringing up 8 strikeouts and surrendering 2 walks.
In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Brawley.
His manager described him this way: "He's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy. He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
The Cincinnati skipper said, "He doesn't give you anything twice. It's a guessing game with him and today my club was always guessing wrong."
Thus far this season Brawley has posted a 19-5 record, started 29 games, struck out 196 batters in 225.1 innings and compiled a 2.44 ERA.
