Medical officials from the Houston Astros reported that the club's 23-year-old starting pitcher, Carlos Miera, suffered dead arm syndrome in yesterday's matchup against the Cincinnati Reds while throwing a pitch. Miera is expected to miss 2 weeks of action.
To date this season, Miera has a record of 11 wins and 8 losses and a 2.84 ERA. He has appeared in 29 games and struck out 177 in 196.2 innings.
