| Breaking News | | Sunday, October 1st, 2017: Pittsburgh Starter Named NL's Best Pitcher When Caleb Brawley takes the hill, there's a good chance for a Pittsburgh victory. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 5-0 mark and a 0.86 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 42 innings, fanned 41 and held the hitters to a .157 average.
That's why the Pirates star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the National League.
So far this season Brawley has a 21-5 record with a 2.42 ERA. | | Friday, September 29th, 2017: Walker Goes 5-6 It's not something you read in the sports pages everyday -- a 5-for-6 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Neil Walker got one today. He scattered hits all over PNC Park to pace Pittsburgh to a 17-9 victory over Colorado.
The Colorado skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Walker hit several that he is not supposed to hit."
N. Walker hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off D. Porres in the 9th.
So far in 2017 Walker has hit .323 with 20 home runs and 97 RBIs. He has played in 135 games and scored 94 times. | | Thursday, September 21st, 2017: Pittsburgh Whitewashes Arizona In a knockout performance, Roy Oswalt beat the Diamondbacks 1-0 with an impressive 4-hit shutout.

This year Oswalt has compiled a 15-9 record with a 4.46 ERA in 31 starts. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 96-66, .593 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 48-33, .593 PCT | | Record on the road | 48-33, .593 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-6, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 25-16, .610 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 30-26, .536 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 66-40, .623 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 14-11, .560 PCT | | Record in May | 17-11, .607 PCT | | Record in June | 21-7, .750 PCT | | Record in July | 15-11, .577 PCT | | Record in August | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in September | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in October | 0-1, .000 PCT |
