Opposing clubs are batting .239 against him. |  | Sunday, October 1st, 2017: Ed Fletcher is September's #1 Hitter in AL Ed Fletcher of the Kansas City Royals had a field day with American League pitchers last month and was crowned the Batter of the Month as a result.
During September he compiled a .349 batting average, drove in 23 runs and scored 21 times. He also managed to pick up 15 walks to post a .435 on-base percentage.
Currently Fletcher is batting .306 with 188 hits and 31 home runs. He has knocked in 103 runs and scored 105 times. |  | Saturday, September 23rd, 2017: Sanbria Smacks 5 Hits for Royals Joe Sanbria got the glory and the headlines today, while the New York (A) Yankees got the win. The Kansas City left fielder easily handled Yankees pitching, going 5 for 5, but the Royals came out on the short end of the score 6-5.
He told SION reporters in the postgame interview, "I'm glad I got the hits, but I would trade three or four of 'em for a win...maybe even all 5 of 'em."
The Royals skipper added, "Well, it's a shame we didn't get the victory today, especially with his standout performance. Let's just hope our team can do better tomorrow."
J. Sanbria hit a solo-shot off J. Talbert in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
